One day in your life .. a very beautiful song from my childhood.  The people here in North East England love this song so much and sang together with me cheerfully.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"One Day in Your Life" is a song recorded by Michael Jackson for his 1975 album, Forever, Michael. Written by Sam Brown and composed by Renée Armand, it was later released in 1981 as a single off the compilation album One Day in Your Life due to the commercial interest that generated from the sales of Jackson's hit 1979 album Off the Wall, even though Jackson released that album on a different label. Jackson and Whitney Houston rehearsed and were meant to perform the song during the 2001 Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Special concerts, but for unknown reasons the song was not performed.

While a modest US hit, it was a bigger hit in the UK, where it became Jackson's first solo recording to hit No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. It was number one in the UK for two weeks in June and July 1981.[1] It also topped the Irish Singles Chart, and also featured strongly on the South African singles charts. It was released on the Motown label. It went on to become the sixth best-selling single of 1981 in the UK. Robert Christgau called this song a romantic ballad that is as credible on its "own terms as the rockers."[2] An Allmusic editor highlighted the song on '81 re-release.[3]

One day in your life
You'll remember a place
Someone touching your face
You'll come back and you'll look around, you'll

One day in your life
You'll remember the love you found here

You'll remember me, somehow
Though you don't need me now
I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apart
You'll remember one day

One day in your life
When you find that you're always waiting
For a love we used to share
Just call my name, and I'll be there

You'll remember me, somehow
Though you don't need me now
I will stay in your heart
And when things fall apart
You'll remember one day

One day in your life
When you find that you're always lonely
For a love we used to share
Just call my name, and I'll be there

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Lady" is a song written by Lionel Richie, and recorded by American country music artist Kenny Rogers. It was released in September 1980 as a previously unreleased single on the album, Kenny Rogers Greatest Hits.

Song history It is listed at #47 on Billboard's All Time Top 100.[1]
The song was written and produced by Lionel Richie, recorded in 1980, and ranks among Kenny Rogers's biggest hits. Rogers once told an interviewer, "The idea was that Lionel would come from R&B and I'd come from country, and we'd meet somewhere in pop".

The success of "Lady" also boosted Richie's career. The production work on the song was his first outside the Commodores and foreshadowed his success as a solo act during the 1980s. Rogers was also a featured vocalist on "We Are the World", co-written by Richie. Richie performed the song himself on his 1998 album, Time, and he and Rogers performed the song as a duet on Richie's
 2012 release "Tuskegee".

Lady, I'm your knight in shining armor and I love you
You have made me what I am and I am yours
My love, there's so many ways I want to say I love you
Let me hold you in my arms forever more

You have gone and made me such a fool
I'm so lost in your love
And oh, we belong together
Won't you believe in my song?

Lady, for so many years I thought I'd never find you
You have come into my life and made me whole
Forever let me wake to see you each and every morning
Let me hear you whisper softly in my ear

In my eyes I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long

Lady, your love's the only love I need
And beside me is where I want you to be
'Cause, my love, there's somethin' I want you to know
You're the love of my life, you're my lady

A simple touch of your hand,
And everything is right.
The gentle way you look at me,
When we kiss goodnight.
You've given me the freedom no other love has known
And now I thank you girl , thank you girl

The countless ways you've touched my heart
Is more than I can say
The beauty that you've shown to me
Takes my breath away
A picture perfect painting, that's what our love is
And yes I need you so, and now I know

[Chorus:]
Ooooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
A work of art it's true
And I treasure you my love
Ooooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
A work of art it's true
And I treasure you

Sometimes I wonder what I'd be
Had I not found you
A least and lonely soul this world
Could show me nothing new

But now my life's a canvas
Painted with your love
And it will always be
And now I see

The gentle walks together
Through time will never pass
This fairy tale we shared
Is real inside our hearts
Let it be forever
Never let it end
This promise I can make
Heaven is ours to take

[Chorus]

When I'm lost and insecure
You build me up and make me sure
That everything will be alright
My love

[Chorus]

(This fairy tale we're sharing
Is real inside our hearts
Let it be forever
Never let it end)

Verse 1
Dear Darlin', please excuse my writing.
I can't stop my hands from shaking cos I'm cold and alone tonight.
I miss you and nothing hurts like no you.
And no one understands what we went through.
It was short. It was sweet. We tried.

Pre Chorus 1
And if my words break through the wall and meet you at your door, all I
Could say is:
"Girl, I mean them all."
Chorus 1
Dear Darlin', please excuse my writing.

We tried.

We tried.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The title cut, a duet with Sheena Easton, was the debut single and became one of Rogers' signature hits, soaring to #1 on the country charts and #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart, reaching #6 on the Hot 100 chart. There were two other singles: "All My Life", which peaked at #13 on the country charts, though it fared at #3 in Canada, and "Scarlet Fever", which is lesser-known but still reached #5 and #4 in the US. and Canada, respectively.

The title of the album comes from its signature track, written by Bob Seger and originating from his album, Stranger in Town. By comparison with Rogers' version, Seger's only reached #13 on the Hot 100, making Rogers' version better-known, five years after it was written.

One song on the album that never became a single but still became one of Rogers' signature songs is the powerful "You Are So Beautiful". This track was placed at the end of the album as a tribute to his legions of female fans, and stands today as one of the songs that Kenny is known for. The song was written by Dennis Wilson, Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher and originally appears on the 1974 Preston album The Kids and Me.

Lionel Richie, who by now had been contributing a large number of songs to Rogers, submitted the track "How Long" to this album.

The album hit #3 on the country charts and #18 on the Billboard 200 charts. Despite lower rankings than many of his earlier releases, the album was still certified platinum in both the US and Canada.

I know it's late, I know you're weary
I know your plans don't include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Longing for shelter from all that we see
Why should we worry, no one will care girl
Look at the stars so far away
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?

Deep in my soul I've been so lonely
All of my hopes fading away
I've longed for love like everyone else does
I know I'll keep searching even after today
So there it is girl, I've said it all now
And here we are babe, what do you say?
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?

I know it's late, I know you're weary
I know your plans don't include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Both of us lonely

We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
Let's make it last, let's find a way
Turn out the light, come take my hand now
We've got tonight babe
Why don't you stay?
Why don't you stay?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Three Times a Lady" is a 1978 single by the funk/soul band the Commodores, from their 1978 album Natural High. It was produced by James Anthony Carmichael and the Commodores and it was the most popular track of the album.

In an appearance on The Early Show on June 12, 2009, Lionel Richie said he was inspired to write the song because of a comment his father made about his mother. His father said to his mother "I love you. I want you. I need you. Forever" hence the three times a lady.[1] It was also the only Motown song to reach the Top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, that year and the Commodores's first Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit, topping the chart for two weeks on August 12, 1978 and also went to number one the soul chart for two weeks.[2] The song spent three weeks at #1 on the adult contemporary chart.[3] It reached #1 on the Canadian RPM Singles Chart for four weeks, and was one of only a few Motown singles to reach the top spot in the UK Singles Chart, staying there for five weeks.[4] The song was also very successful in Ireland, staying at #1 in the charts for three consecutive weeks. It was #1 in Australia for five weeks, and reached #2 in New Zealand. In the years since the Commodores had started in 1974 it has been one of their most emotional songs since "You Don't Know That I Know" from the album Caught in the Act in 1975.

The original Commodores' version of the song was included as the final track on Lionel Richie's greatest hits compilation album Back To Front, released in 1992.

Thanks for the times

That you've given me
The memories are all in my mind
And now that we've come
To the end of our rainbow
There's something I must say out loud

You're once, twice

Three times a lady
And I love you
Yes you're once, twice
Three times a lady
And I love you
I love you

When we are together

The moments I cherish
With every beat of my heart
To touch you, to hold you
To feel you, to need you
There's nothing to keep us apart

You're once, twice

Three times a lady
And I love you
I love you
